Fabwerks - Licensing scheme is broken

Saturday, July 1st 2017, 9:08pm

I have an Aquaero 6 XT and an Aquaero 6 LT, along with a realtime clock and other accessories.

I am adding a Fabwerk USB to the system.

I read in the manual that I need to hook up the device via USB first in order to have it operate as an AquaBus device connected to my Aquaero's.

Great.

So I connect it to my laptop and open up Aquasuite.

I have the Aquaero 6's running on Aquasuite 2017-1.3, as they are licensed to run.

However, since I have Aquasuite 2017-1.3, the Aquasuite refuses to talk to the Fabwerk because it's not licensed for Aquasuite 2017! So I have to uninstall Aquasuite 2017, reinstall Aquasuite 2016, update the fabwerk, then reinstall Aquasuite 2017 and reinstate the settings.

This is a BROKEN PROCESS.

Aquasuite 2017 at the very lease should be allowed to talk to the fabwerk to do the single operation of allowing it to be a slave aquabus device so that it can be plugged into the system. This is a hole in the logic of the licensing.
