USB motherboard connection

Montag, 16. Oktober 2017, 03:49

Hello there, im having issues figuring out the right connection between the motherboard, the aquaero and the vision module on my kryos next. I have receive contradicting opinions through various forums about this so im looking for an official answer to this.

The vision module manual says that pin 1= nc, pin 2= GND (black), pin 3= D+ (green), pin4= D- (white), pin5= +5v (red).

The x299 apex mobo manual says that pin1= +5v, pin2= D-, pin3= D+, pin4= GND, pin5= not connected

I know the order on the aquaero is red, white, green, black, black so my initial idea was to plug the vision module cable the same way, but some guy told me not to check by cable but check by pins. He wants me to plug it black, black, green, white, red.

Like I already explained in the OCN forum: on your mainboard you have a missing pin in the USB port. This pin tells you the correct orientation. The side with the missing pin is the side where the black grounding wire goes.

I think your problem is that you think that pin 1...5 and its color must be the same between both devices but this can be also different.

Thats what I was thinking at first, but then this guy who said he has plenty of aquaero said to follow pin order and plug it backwards so it installed doubt in my mind has this would be a costly mistake.

Just wanted an official answer from the company. So technically all Aquacomputer follow the same plug order (red to double black)?

PS. Disregard my pm on OCN, posted it just before i saw you replied here
