High Flow meter - No flow signal - activation ?

Samstag, 23. Dezember 2017, 20:22

Hello,

I have installed yesterday the Aquaero 6 LT, and today the high flow meter 53129 in me case.

Have disconnet the USB cable from the Aquaero and connect it with the USB cable from the high flow meter (Have only one USB 2.0 header) and the software found the MPS device but no signal in the software.

Now i see i need to activate the flow meter, how can i do that ?
Have on my motherboard one USB 2.0 header.

I think there need 2 devices connect with a USB cable for linking the activation ?
When i start the program with Aquaero and disconnect it and connect the flowmeter can't activate it.

Hope someone can help me :)

I strongly recommend you use a USB 2.0 hub like THIS or THIS.
Then you can leave both items connected by USB & aquabus, AND have more USB ports for the future.

Edit:
Your Mobo USB 2.0 header is probably a 2 port headers (9 or 10 pin).
If so, you could make 2 cables like THIS and plug one each into the aquaero & the highflow USB sensor'
Or you could BUY the cables in various length from FrontX.

Is there no other way ?
without a adapter ?

i'm using only usb 3.0 or 3.1.
Or am i obligated to a buy a adapter only for activation ?

(Motherboard is a ASUS Mark Tuf 1 X299 chipset)

EDIT:

After the activation i can connect the flowmeter to the Aquaero with the 4 pins cable ?

lol, you replied to my post while I was editing.

We just experienced an issue where the firmware had to be updated, which required a USB connection.
For that reason I would recommend keeping both items connected to a USB port.

The edit solution I posted above may serve you.

Thank you.
I will take a look at it

Your last link where i can buy the cable doens't work btw :)

It works :)

Have remove the S-GND Pin from the 5 pins header an connect it on the 4 pins from the 9 pins USB 2.0 Header :)
Thanks :)

Good luck.

I have a other question to you :).

Do you know i can connect it with the 4 pins cable ?
Is it plug and play ? or need i change setting somewhere ?

Samstag, 23. Dezember 2017, 21:48

The highflow usb sensor 4 pin aquabus port can be connected to the aquaero aquabus high port by a 4 pin cable, yes.
Since you have only the one MPS device, you do not need to adjust the default bus address.
Just be sure the system tab reflects the correct device type. setting.jpg

Hmmm i have done that..

I have disconnect the USB cable from the MPS and contented the 4 pins to the aduabus header and to the aquabus high port on the aquaero.

But the software given't a signal at sensors -> Flow sensors.
And also not with "aquabus" optie left in the list.

Currently connected aquabus deceives is empty.

Which version of aquasuite are you running?
If 2017-3.1, have you updated the firmware for BOTH the aquaero AND the highflow usb sensor?

Sonntag, 24. Dezember 2017, 10:35

I'm using 2017-3.2,

Have flash by both new firmware and is updated to the last one.

By MPS have select "Device type" - 53129 this is correct and by aquabus address number "12"

Sonntag, 24. Dezember 2017, 15:29

OK, it looks like the highflow usb flow sensor shows up in aquasuite when connected by USB. system.jpg
Do you see a flow value in the configuration tab when the highflow usb flow sensor is connected by USB? usbflow.jpg

If so, we need to look at your 4-pin aquabus cable between the flow sensor & the aquaero.
Is it an aquacomputer provided cable or did you make it yourself?

Sonntag, 24. Dezember 2017, 15:37

Yes, The sensor shows up when i conneced by USB.
And give a "good" signal +/- 95 L/Hour

Have set is to 53129 Sensor - Bus stands op 12 (Was stock 12)
Have updated the firmware.

Have bought the 4 pins cable.
Have check the cable and all pins make contact.

One last procedure to try:

1. turn off the computer
2. turn off the power supply
3. unplug the power supply cable

option: Now is the time to remove the highflow sensor USB, USB cable if you don't want to use it.

4. wait 1 minute for the motherboard to go completely dead

5. plug the power supply cable in
6. turn the power supply on
7. start the computer

Cheer Nice   ,
It works now :). this is Solved 8) Thnx

Almost finish the setup :)
Only the PWM pump controller doesn't work.

Have a D5 pump and can't control it in Aquqauite.
And running all the time 100% (Stands on PWM Controlled - Fan header 4)
When i controll it to 99% it will stop pumping.

Sonntag, 24. Dezember 2017, 16:26

Yes, that is another ball of wax.

I assume you are NOT using the aquacomputer D5 PWM pump.
Most D5 pumps do not follow the Intel pull-up spec (whatever that is) and will fail under aquaero PWM control.
If you have a different brand pump, you will need to add a Diva Mod to the pump.
You can search in the OCN aquaero owners club, or ask for a link to the Diva Mod there.

Edit:
Just noticed you linked to the pump.
EKWB D5 pumps version 2 should be compatible with the aquaero.
If you have the earlier version the Diva Mod applies.

I don't know if i have version 2 of the D5 pump. (bought it 2 months ago)

Maybe will there a sticker under the pump but thats a lot of work for checking.

Have connected to the Fan 4 header.
Or can i conned it to the aquabus header when it is a version 2 ?

Diva mod is this ? : http://www.overclock.net/t/1474470/ocn-a…0#post_22946282

I guess EKWB refers to it as the G2 version.
Do you have the box it came in?

Having bought the pump 2 months ago depends as to who you bought it from and how long it was in their inventory.

I am not the right person to help with this issue as I have no experience with PWM pumps.
You will get many useful replies in the OCN aquaero owners club though.

Good luck.

The EK G2 pumps will work with the AQ if that's what is being asked.
