Will 240 Aquacomputer radiator be enough for for Nvidia 1080ti and Intel 9600k CPU(no overclock)?

Freitag, 18. Januar 2019, 12:25

Here is what I know: a typical 2 section radiator wont be enough to do that. I know because I tried. Water gets dangerously hot.
My problem is I don't know if this brand can do it better, can it?
Please, if you use this brand radiator tell me about your rig and your temps and what size you have and what are you cooling. CPU, CPU plus GPU, GPU alone.
I could use any help now.

no brand can do this because heat dissipation is limited by physics laws.

the 1080ti has 250 Watt TDP, the 9600k has 95 Watt TDP.
Your hardware creates a total heat of 350 Watt (not overclocked).

a 120mm radiator can dissipate 100-120 Watt.
for your hardware, you need a minimum 360mm radiator. a 480mm radiator is recommended.

It may work, but it will be either warm or loud, wouldn't recommend.

I've used a i7-6700K (stock non-OC, 91 W TDP) + Titan X (Pascal, with +200/+600 OC, 300W TDP) with a single 45 mm thick 280 radiator, with two 140mm fans in push at ~800 rpm, for about 2 years (the first two pictures in this post show my old rig).

During many hour long game sessions, GPU temperature rose to 55℃, with the water at approximately 43℃. This is considered warm, but should still be safe for the D5 pump, as far as I know (60℃ is the upper limit IIRC). Apparently warmer water promotes the release of plasticizer from the tubes into the water, which can clog the fins in water blocks, or so I read. This wasn't an issue for me personally, but I guess it can't hurt mentioning.

In the spirit of openness/honesty, I have to add that the single review I read of their (absolutely gorgeous!) airplex radical copper radiator had no nice words for it, which is a pity because I really dig its looks. To end on a positive note, I do love AC for their superb Aquaero and Aquasuite, and hopefully soon for their superb 2080 Ti GPU block as well.
