Components pairing query

Freitag, 26. Juni 2020, 15:15

Hi all...

First time building my loop and decided on using Aquacomputer for my pump.

I've got a few queries:

I'm looking at the following:
- aqualis D5 100 ml with nano coating, G1/4 - https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3191
- D5 pump motor with PWM input and speed signal - https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3255

Question:
- I noticed this warning below the page "Please note: Fittings are not included in delivery, please order seperately. Laing D5 pump and rubber decouplers are not included in delivery!"

1. Could I confirm the D5 PWM pump that i've chosen will fit? Does it come with the necessary gaskets etc?
If not appreciate if someone could point me to the correct part.

2. I intend to mount the pump at the bottom of the case (FD Define 7) but i'm confused about the mounting kit.

I intend to mount the pump vertically - but notice there doesn't seem to be any way of doing so? - using https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3392 or https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3789

Appreciate some advice on the assembly / part to pick for mounting.

Layout would be similar to this - https://imgur.com/a/vZhHZUI

The perfect bracket / solution would be in the product - https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3848 - but its not available for the Aqualis.

Yes, the aqualis D5 100 and the D5 pump motor with PWM are perfectly suited to be married up, all bits included.
The not-included fittings mentioned would depend on your loop (tube size/type, etc) and will need to be purchased separately.
The decouplers mentioned are a separately purchased rubbery mounting option to isolate pump vibration from your case.

If I may suggest, why not go with the newer ULTITUBE D5 100 reservoir with D5 PWM pump you linked?
It has mounting options for vertical and horizontal positions, includes decouplers, and frankly looks a bit cleaner.

Thank you for your reply and confirmation with regards to the pump. ;)

Due to stock availability from certain online stores - the ultitube is not readily available - and my machine has been in pieces for coming to 6 months already.
Just want to get it up and running - and i need a machine ASAP.

Already planning to purchase a aquacomputer CPU block for the build as well.

If I may - I recently got the 150mm Ultitube D5 Pro... and it is *SO* worth it, even if you have to wait on lead times!!
The glass reservoir, the D5 NEXT which is basically a mini-Aquaero, the build quality and features, it's all just completely next-level stuff.

Which CPU block are you going for?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll need to see how the situation goes - i ordered one of EK's older gen glass reservoir d5 pump combo and they were out of stock - but have aquacomputer's line up already paired up in the cart to replace it. Just a tad worried about the mounting bracket for the Aqualis D5 and how its mounted.

Was hoping someone to come in with some info of pictures and/or diagrams on how its installed as i plan to install this to the base of the case - vertically - but looking at the pictures and photos - i feel the bracket only mounts vertically - to the radiator?

The D5 next is nice but i have to think about having too much electronics at the pump area and for the long run - a pump should stay a pump - for my case, and i'm trying hard not to have RGB since the case isn't showing off much (all solid side panels)

CPU block would be the - cuplex kryos next acetal/copper. Unless i can get hold of the Optimus block.
