Aquasuite X.44 Potential Trojan Virus

Montag, 11. Oktober 2021, 19:05

I recently attempted to update my Aquasuite software for fan management. When I clicked install on the X.44 version, I followed the instructions as normal and completed the installation. However, upon its completion, Kaspersky AntiVirus flagged a file entitled "tmpB105.exe" located in the temp folder on my computer under the appdata file. It labeled this file as being or containing what it registered as PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic. I immediately disinfected my computer and restored settings that the installation had modified. After this, I attempted to install the aquasuite-setup.exe directly from the website, though the same pattern of events occurred again. I then attempted to install the program without an internet connection, though it said that it needed to connect to the aquasuite server in order to begin the process.
Seeing as my AntiVirus application flags this as a Trojan program, I am wary to update my software until this matter is resolved. If there is any need for additional information, I would be happy to provide it. Thank you for any assistance you might provide.

You may want to contact Kaspersky about this.

Virus Total might be helpful to see if only your virus scanner has a problem.

Winstonwoof: Haha, just had the same thought while reading the post :D
The other guy actually asking for help: There's nothing to worry about, antivirus software have been doing that for ages, like when installing a EA games and such. Antivirus programs are the Karens of the computing world, accusing 99% of files being a Trojan. It's Aquacomputer, and of top of that it is German, no need to worry ;) (Hope you understood the sarcasm and my attempt to be funny, but really nothing to be worried about) ;)

To be honest these days if you're running W10 or above then the built in Windows Defender/Security/Antivirus is all you really need. It's come on leaps and bounds ove rthe years.

No real need to pay 3rd Party fees IMHO
