Since our download server only accepts the encryption protocol TLS in version 1.2 or higher, it is no longer possible to connect to it with Windows 7 without additional modifications. Microsoft provides more information on this topic on this
support page.
To enable TLS 1.2 support in Windows 7 the following steps are required:
1: Install Windows Updates
The system should have all recommended and optional updates installed. The critical update to enable TLS 1.2 is number KB3140245. It can also be
downloaded individually if necessary.
2: Use Microsoft Easy Fix
After installing the updates, further adjustments are necessary, which a Microsoft Easy Fix performs automatically. The tool can be
downloaded here.
3: Create registry entry
In the last step an entry in the registry is needed to activate TLS 1.2. To do this, download this
ZIP archive, open the contained file and confirm that the entry should be added to the registry.
The contained key is as follows and can also be copied into a text file, which you then give the file extension .reg and open as described:

Registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS 1.2\Client
DWORD name: DisabledByDefault
DWORD value: 0

4: Restart
Windows should be restarted in the last step to make sure that all adjustments have been applied.
A proper function can not be guaranteed because we no longer officially support Windows 7.
It should also be noted that some functions of aquasuite X are not available under Windows 7 because the necessary system components are only available in Windows 8.1 or newer.
