to add to this, 4 pin PWM fans are always powered by a constant 12V and have an embedded controller that varies the motor speed depending on the PWM input.
3 pin DC fans are controlled by varying the input voltage and have no electronics inside.

OK, so it's time to install the fans and splitty9s! So I understand to make these EK fans work, I need to disable the Tach signal. I think I need to clip this pin, as highlighted in yellow, on 8 of the Splitty9 fan headers, which I understand is the Tach pin. I understand I do not clip this on the RPM header.

Is this correct?

@jacob I assume this uses lots of splitter cables?
