Quadro/Octo : need aquasuite always on ?

Quadro/Octo : need aquasuite always on ?

Hi All,
I understand that Aquasuite will provide setup functionalities in order to, for example, setup fan speed curve based on sensor temp.
I would like to know if, once the setup is done, it is saved in the Octo/Quadro or if it will still require Aquasuite software to load in order to follow the fan speed/sensor temp curve ?
In other words : I do the setup with Aquasuite running on windows. I reboot under Linux => how will my fans behave ?

if your setup doesn't rely on aquasuite feeding software sensors to the octo yes.
Basically, if you use temperature sensors hardwired to the octo, it will work.
Anything involving hardware monitoring or virtual sensors won't work.

So if you have a custom loop with water temp sensor connected to the octo, you're good to go.
air cooling, you can strap sensors to whatever component heats up your rig, usually somewhere around the GPU, and connect to the Octo.

Wow great functionality, and thanks for quick answer.

So just to be sure :
- I connect a hardware sensor for water temp to a quatro
- I connect a fan to the quatro
- I setup a curve in aquasuite where fan speed is based on water temp
If I reboot under Linux, the fan will still follow the curve previously defined ?

yep. Quadro and Octo have 4 hardware profiles. you just save the fan curve on them (or just on the default first one) and it will run off it if aquasuite doesn't run. same goes for the LED channel(s). they are saved in there.
