urgent help regarding strange water behaviour and stain marks on kryographics 3090 RE

Dienstag, 21. Februar 2023, 12:14

hi, I bought Kryos for AM4 and Kryographics for my 3090 RE almost 6 months back, From day 1, the water flow on it is same as shown in video below. I never gave it much attention because the temps were fine when I benchmarked with other users who own Kryographics and same card as well. So now after 6 months i decided to change the liquid as now i finally have a good coolant (Koolance, not DP ULTRA , it was not available on anazon at that time)- it took almost 2 and a half months for it to come to my country by sea as we dont have good branded coolants here. Anyway, i was running on distilled water plus some concentrated liquid from barrow (which has biocide etc) and I noticed some strange marks on my waterblock after draining. I asked on reddit about these marks but instead they told me to check my waterflow first inside waterblock because it does not look normal! so pls help me on both issues :(

1- are those watermarks shown in pics and video due to bad liquid? anything worrysome or should i ignore as i hardly ran on distilled water and that barrow liquid for 3 months.

2- Is the waterflow fine? seems only left side has water, right side always was dry for me. I am also using active backplate.

3- If due to above issues i need to open waterblock, how can i do it? any disassembly instructions?

that white thing could be just flux residue from the radiators if they are new too. It sometimes happens when first running water.
But you have a ton of air in the loop and not much flow, you really should push that pump to max speed and get that air out to the reservoir. keeping it at 50 - 55% won't do much to help. Personally, i'd just deactivate the leakshield to start with, run the pump at full speed to move as much air out as possible, then deaerate with leakshield to get the last stubborn bubbles out

You may also need to tilt your case the help get the air out.

... being careful not to flood the leakshield :)
