Airplex EVO 160 kleiner machen

Guten tag,

Mein Deutsch ist leider nicht sehr gut. Aber ich habe ein Frage die ich gerne beantwordet habe. (Mein Änglisch und Niederlandisch sind besser).

Ich habe ein Wasserkülung project gestartet für mein Shuttle SN25P. Es geht nicht slecht. Jetzt gehe Ich vieleicht probieren ein Airplex EVO 160 oben mein PSU zu montieren.

Aber das problem ist das volgende: Ich habe da nür 76mm raum in die Breite und die Airplex EVO 160 braucht 88mm.

Kunnen Sie mir erzählen ob es möglich ist 12mm von die Airplex EVO 160 ab zu schneiden? Naturlich muß das Radiator wohl bleiben funktionieren.

Danke sehr für ihre Zeit und mein enschüldigung für die fehler die ich oben gemacht habe.

I don't think that 12mm will be possible.

I was thinking of removing the protective shell around the radiator and perhaps even bashing in some of the fins ;D

If the radiator cools a little less, that is not a problem because I have got another 80mm radiator. I just don't want it to spring any leaks..

as long as you are careful and do not damage any of the pipes you might get the 12mm needed. I just had a look at my Evo160 and think it is possible.

But in my opinion you should think about other solutions and not to "destroy" your Evo160. One of the bad things about cutting away the shell of the Evo will be that you cannot mount your fans that easy and that mounting the Evo to your case will be getting harder too.

what about an external solution. I think of a nice looking small box containing the Evo160 and two 80mm fans ;-)
You also might hide this box behind your Monitor or below your table.

You can find a rather long log of my watercooling efforts on the Sudhian website:

Sudhian is specialised in Small Form Factor systems. The small form factor poses quite some challenges for any watercooling solution.

Getting everything in the box is seen as a great feat of engeneering and pretty cool too. Furthermore Shuttle has a special bag in which standardsize cases fit.

So I'll try to go fully internal if I can. I think will go ahead and buy the Evo 160. If I can't cram it in the case, I can always mount it on the back.
