No flow data

Mittwoch, 16. Februar 2011, 08:09

I have just purchased a brand new "Aquastream Ultra" pump and the "High Flow" sensor amongst other things (no Aquaero as yet still waiting). I'm pretty new to this whole water cooling game and my German, for lack of a better word, is no-existent and google translate only does so much. The fact fact that it is almost 2am  here in the Land of Ice and Snow (literally) doesn't help. I like to think that I'm not a complete idiot  , but I'm getting absolutely no reading from the flow sensor. There are no pin assignments on the pump or sensor and as far as I understand (according to google translate) it doesn't matter which side is input and which is output, which by the way strikes me as odd but as there are no markings on the sensor itself, I assume this is true. I've been poking around the forum for a while and I've set the "Configuration aquabus/flow sensor connector" setting to "Flow Sensor" and saved it, restarteed it, restarted my computer, tried all kinds of impuls calibrations including the default 256, and 165 amd 3567 etc etc. I'm getting 0.00 l/h both on the "Pump and Flow Rate Settings" tab and on the main "Aquastream" tab. ?(

PLEAAAAAAAASE HEEEEELP MEEEEEEEE ;(

PS attached screen shots.

This flow sensor has no specific in and out so that can not be the problem. When you set the connector to flow within the aquasuite: did you shutdown the PC to perform a restart? This is necessary because otherwise the pump will not use the new settings.

If everything is OK so far, you should test the mechanic of the sensor itself. Blow some air into the chamber and check if the impeller is spinning easily. If it spins hardly or even not at all you can open up the the sensor. Remove the stainless steel cover. Underneath you will find a white plastic cover, remove this too. Now you can access the impeller. Don't remove it and check if it spins easily without the top cover. If so, remove the impeller, get a hammer and hit the metal pin two or three times. Maybe you ask why: it is very likely that the metal pin sticks not deep enough into the drilled hole so the impeller touches the top and can not spin freely.

If there seems no problem with the pin, just check the chamber and impeller for dirt and other things that might block the thing from spinning.

If you own a multimeter you can also check the connection cable. Maybe this is causing the problem because of a broken wire.

Thanks Shoogy  . I did as you suggested, I took it all apart. Every thing seemed OK so I put it back together and it is working fine  . I'm getting a reading of between 100 and 150 l/h. As you can see, this is a test loop for my external project. I'm having problems configuring the fan settings ?( . As I mentioned I am new to this. I will post a seperate thread for that :S .
