Flow Sensor "High Flow USB" pressure sensor delta 40

Mittwoch, 21. Oktober 2015, 18:14

Hi there,
I just received
Flow Sensor "High Flow USB" pressure sensor delta 40 product number 53133

The product comes to me as I never expected I have tiny little something with to small holes and have no clue how could I have connected to G1/4 fittings which I have in my PC.
Is there any converters to G1/4 fittings for this?
Its very hard to find any information about this product, even on you tube or different forums about this.
So I think I get mistake and bought something completely different.

My plan is to connect the pressure sensor between reservoir and water pump, but have no clue how can I do this with it?? :)

so tell me please how would resolve this??

Thanks

aren't these holes on the bottom G1/4? ?(

no, there are two holes on the side of this item

The holes in the side are M5, and requires This Fitting and This Tubing. To connect the 6mm tubing into you G1/4 loop, you need This Fitting,
If you are using the Pressure Sensor to determine the reservoir level, you can use a Pressure Equalization Membrane at the reservoir top, and leave the "Low Port" on the Pressure Sensor open.

Edit: Section 6 of the MPS Manual discusses the Pressure Sensor - English or Deutsch.

That is great, but still have a few qestions.
What about waterflow inside the loop.
1.Is that sensor need to be a part of waterloop? if yes so is those 6mm holes would restricted all waterflow inside waterloop if the water need comes through the sensor?
I presume that sensor high port (as intake) needs to be connected to the bottom of reservoir and low port as (outtake) to water pump?

2.If I use that sensor as the reservoir fill level sensor so do I have to use
http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2933
or can I use it

I'm asking you becasue I already bought reservoir such this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc…rodid=WC-319-BP

and there is only one connector which can be used as fitting waterloop connector from radiator

3.Do you know is there any place to buy different top of this reservoir with let's say 2 or 3 connectors on the top?

In your title you already messed up something...

Either way you have a high flow sensor to measure the flow rate or you have a mps pressure sensor to measure the pressure or a fill level.

The high flow sensor uses G1/4 threads of course while the mps pressure sensor has the small M5 threads because of its compact size. This also does not matter because no water flows through this sensor. It only measures how strong the water pushes against a membrane inside the sensor.

You should take a look at page 7 and 8 of the manual to understand how it works and must be set up.

Thank you,
now you clear the picture in front of my eyes :)

yes, I think I did mess up in title due to fact manual which I found with product is titled like "Flow sensor mps flow, etc." I tried to be more precisely.
anyway, I have already purchased Flow sensor "high flow" G1/4 for aquaero, aquastream XT ultra and poweradjust to have waterflow measurement
http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2294

so I was looking for something to take a measurement for fill level liquid in reservoir,
I bought AQUA COMPUTER Pressure Sensor Delta 40
http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2902
thought is the best solution for my waterloop, and still is in matter of fact.

now, you explained me all my doubts which was:
-how can I connect it into the G1/4 fittings (so there is Push-in connector for 6 mm hoses, G 1/4 thread which allows me to connect to G1/4 fittings)
-how waterflow can get through such small piece if hardware with any waterflow restrictions (there is no water flow through this sensor, only the pressure from water tank)

I have more questions such a:

-I already have purchased Bitspower Z-Multi 250mm Water Tank
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu…rodid=WC-319-BP

so there is only one fitting port on the top. I wouldn't used that port for the Pressure equalisation membrane G1/4, tall version
http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2933
when its connected to radiator, unless I will get another top of reservoir which has more than one fitting hole.
is that membrane G1/4 is really required to have more accurate readings? or there is another way?

-Is does a matter what position is installed pressure sensor in Pc case? I know it has to be on water tank bottom level but is it can be installed vertical or horizontal position?

Thank you very much to clear all my thoughts with all this things :)

Yes, the reservoir cap must have one port available for the pressure sensor.

Simple physics says that as the water temperature increases, the air in the reservoir top heats and expands increasing the pressure. If this is not compensated for, the pressure applied by the air will make the water column appear taller than it is, and the sensor will provide incorrect level readings.

You can either use the Equalization Membrane and leave the Low port connection on the sensor open, and both will reflect the local atmospheric pressure.
Or you can connect the Low port of the MPS 40 sensor to the reservoir top by tubing.

There are various multi-port caps with 2 or 3 ports available for your reservoir.
