Trying to understand how the Octo controller Works

Sonntag, 3. Januar 2021, 19:53

For Fan Control I'm assuming that, as long as I use a 3 prong splitter, I can control all 19 of my fans using the following system. Can someone verify this.

Fan Control
  • Aqua Octo Fan Controller
    • Channel 1
      • Fan Group 1 - Top Radiator Pusher
        • Fan 1 - Noctua NF-A12x15
        • Fan 2 - Noctua NF-A12x15
        • Fan 3 - Noctua NF-A12x15
    • Channel 2
      • Fan Group 2 - Top Radiator Puller
        • Fan 4 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 5 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 6 - Corsair QL 120
    • Channel 3
      • Fan Group 3 - Bottom Radiator Pushers
        • Fan 7 - Arctic P12 PWM
        • Fan 8 - Arctic P12 PWM
        • Fan 9 - Arctic P12 PWM
    • Channel 4
      • Fan Group 4 - Bottom Radiator Pullers
        • Fan 10 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 11 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 12 - Corsair QL 120
    • Channel 5
      • Fan Group 5 - Side Radiator Pushers
        • Fan 13 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 14 - Corsair QL 120
        • Fan 15 - Noctua NF-A12x15
    • Channel 6
      • Fan Group 6 - Side Radiator Pullers
        • Fan 16 - Arctic P12 PWM
        • Fan 17 - Arctic P12 PWM
        • Fan 18 - Arctic P12 PWM
    • Channel 7
      • Fan Group 7 - Rear Exhaust
        • Fan 19 - Corsair QL 120
    • Channel 8
      • Not In Use
For LED control, I am confused on what exactly the Splitty4 does. Does it "Clone" its output to all LED devices connected to the system? Would 2x QL120 plugged into a Splitty4, then plugged into an LED channel on a Aqua Octo would show-up as 34 LEDs connected to the system (both fans would produce cloned output) or would it show as 68 LEDs in total?

Also, does everything connected to a single Splitty4 need to be the same make and model?

LED Control
  • Aqua Octo Controller
    • Channel 1

        • 28 LED - Phanteks NEON Digital-RGB LED Strip #2
    • Channel 2
      • RGBpx Splitty4 #2
        • 28 LED - Phanteks NEON Digital-RGB LED Strip #3
        • 28 LED - Phanteks NEON Digital-RGB LED Strip #4
        • 28 LED - Phanteks NEON Digital-RGB LED Strip #5
  • Farbwerk 360
    • Channel 1
      • RGBpx Splitty4 #3
        • 34 LED - Fan 4 - Corsair QL 120
        • 34 LED - Fan 5 - Corsair QL 120

Does it "Clone" its output to all LED devices connected to the system?
No. the Splitty4 is daisy chaining the connectors. It will only work when there is a Data Out cable on the Connector.

Would 2x QL120 plugged into a Splitty4, then plugged into an LED channel on a Aqua Octo would show-up as 34 LEDs connected to the system (both fans would produce cloned output) or would it show as 68 LEDs in total?
It will show up as 68 LEDs, and each one can be addressed.

The Phanteks LED strips do not require a Splitty4. You can plug it directly into the RGBpx Port using an Adapter ( https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3829 ) and a rgbpx cable ( https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3762 ) Then plug the second LED Strip into the end of the first LED Strip.

Yes. I'm running Quadro with 3x ML120 fans on each channel.
