How to Clean the Cuplex?

Samstag, 26. März 2005, 02:06

Hi All,

I was wondering what's the best way to clean my Cuplex v1.0
I've had it installed & runninig since Sept 2001 (just with distilled water)
Now that I've upgraded to AMD64, I've had to take it all apart.

The outside (exposed to the air) is fine, still shiny copper!!!
but the inside has corroded a bit, though most of it looks like a thin film of algae.

I was going to use coke cola, but thought I'd better ask first ::) Any idea's...?

Use citric from pharmacy or supermarket.

Cola is a bit gluey ::)

Hi,

i think you should clean your CuPlex two times...

the first time you should use alcohol (Disinfectant or something else)...

The second time you sould use citric acid...

After this two cleanings you have a brand new CuPlex! ;)

EDIT:

And don't ferget: only use distilled aqua with AC-Fluid (or G11 / G12)...
A sinking ship is still a ship!

WARNING

don't use alcohol for cleaning the plexiglass part of the cuplex. it might damage or maybe destroy it.
for this you should use normal glass-cleaner (or simply water)

use just water.
most glas cleaners are based on alcohol.
Don't forget to clean your Copper with water after use the citric.
