CPU_FAN header

Thursday, July 27th 2023, 2:15pm

Hi Folks,

I'm using a server motherboard, which doesn't like when the CPU header disconnects. For now, I plug the
fan to make it happy is there any way to connect D5 next or Octo to CPU_FAN header.

For example, if the temperature sensor fails inside D5 next. The pump has no signal
about CPU temperature; hence I'm confused about the fallback here.

Kind Regards,
Thank you

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The devices are not able to generate a speed signal.

If a sensor source is missing or a sensor is defective, the controller goes to 100% power.

Depending on the board manufacturer, you may be able to disable the CPU_Fan warning in the BIOS.

The D5 NEXT interfaces with teh motherboard via USB, so you may be able to set something up using the CPU Temp (via HWInfo) as a software sensor.
