Kryos HF install

Sunday, November 14th 2010, 11:43am

Hi,

I'm installing the Kryos HF on a Gigabyte X58A-UD7 motherboard. My question is if I need to use only the backplate on metal because on the back of the motherboard there is another backplate and i can't remove them or I need to use both the "Gummi" and Metal backplate? I think the "distanzring" of 3mm is not enought if I use both backplate.

Here a picture of the motherboard's back

Thank you and best regards

Normally you should use both backplates. The already installed backplate is part of Intels mounting system and was kept in mind when designing our mounting system. If you can not install it this way you can leave out the rubber backplate but make sure that no electronic parts are touching the metal backplate!
