PCIe 4x in PCIe 16x-Slot

Da ich die Bilder auf www.dau-alarm.de gesehen hab frag ich lieber vorher: Geht das? Sind die PCIe-Slots zu ihren kürzeren Cousins abwärtskompatibel? Oder mach ich mir da ein Lagerfeuerchen im Gehäuse klar?

Das Thema hatten wir erst neulich hier... Das ist kein Problem und geht sogar andersherum, wenn die Steckplätze dafür ausgelegt sind.

Solang es ohne Gewalt und sägen passt, ist PCIe da voll zueinander kompatibel.
