Aquaero 5 Pro- broken need help

Montag, 22. Oktober 2012, 11:21

Just had a major flood and think that my AQ5 is kaput- it will only power one pump if connected via the adaptor but both pumps work if connected directly to a psu molex

Any way to check to see if it is broken or can I use the 3 pin fan connector from the adaptor to control the pump output as when connected to the psu, they only work at 100% which is v ery loud!

Help would be most gratefully received

If I got it right one fan channel seems to be dead?I would recommend only to connect a normal 3 pin fan and set a manual controller with 100% for this channel. If the fan does not work you can be pretty sure that something is damaged.

Shoggy- thanks for reply.

I think that the whole unit is damaged unfortunatley- so will have to save for a new one

In the meantime, if I connect the pump molex to the psu molex and 3 pin fan connector from the pump's adaptor to a fan controller, will this allow me to control the pump speed like a fan until I can afford a new AP5?

I do not know which pump you are using but this should not work since the speed of the pump is regulated by its voltage.

By the way: if the main controller is damaged it can be exchanged with anew one which will be still much cheaper than a whole new device.

Thanks for your suggestion of trying a different fan header- I removed the A 5P and tried hooking the pumps up to different headers and have found that header 2 does not work -

I now have 7 or 9 fans that I need to connect to just one fan header- might just have to use the Lamptron for that unless I can think of something else!

You could abandon the blown fan channel, and add a poweradjust to get another one back.

Aye, that's an option but I will try using the lamptron hidden in the case until I can afford to get the poweradjust- presume just the basic one will suffice

Just been running for most of the afternoon and now have to have the pumps direct to molex on psu otherwise i get random pump failures i.e. one will start one time then the other will start then both- not very happy at the moment but will look at more tomorrow ?( ;(

Well just been running since yesterday and still getting random issues- one time it all works, next start up one fan channel doesnt work, next reboot 2 controllers dont work

Just fed up with this so have decided to ditch the unit completely as it is not stable even though it means having to drain a loop and re order the loop

It could have been a good bit of kit but there are too many problems especially the software
