The lights on my RBG sensor are mixed up.

dimanche 1 septembre 2013, 05:34

Red = Green
Green = Blue
Blue = Red

I have been playing with this for an hour. Anyone have any idea why it would be mixed up?

In this picture:

My Blue is actually blinking.

Lights are messed up here too, the wrong colors are coming on the LED:

You own an Aquaero, right? How could somone help you, if nobody knows what you own. It could also be an Aquaduct.
It would be obviously a production fault if it were an Aquaduct.
Also, your screenshots are not really helpful at all, because it didn't show us how you've connected the LED(s) to the Aquaero LED terminal.
Do you use a selfmade LED + cable and mixed up the pins, or did you've a already configured one made by Aqua Computer?

If it's a wrong assembled Aqua Computer cable, you could try to remove the pins from the female connector and rearrange it yourself until it fits.

Citation

4.11. Connector „RGB-LED“
Connector for up to three LEDs or one two-color or RGB illumination module
(not included in delivery). High brightness LEDs (I max 20 mA, U 3-4V) may
be connected without series resistor, a series resistor is built into the aquaero 5.
Pin assignment: Pin 1: VCC LED 1
Pin 2: VCC LED 2
Pin 3: GND
Pin 4: VCC LED 3

However, what I can see from the first screenshot is, that it's not the factory configuration.
Standard would be...
Red: Blinks while alarm condition
Green + Blue: Off during alarm condition

But that didn't help with your problem.

Btw: Next time please give us more helpful information about the hardware you own, if it's selfmade or was it bought and already assembled/configured, some 'windows paint' drawings, photos or a youtube movie or what ever would be appreciated.

Sorry, yes I have the Aquaero 5 XT. Yes, it is the same cable you linked in your post.
Here is the picture of the cable plugged in:

I didn't take a picture of the actual LED light because I said in my post what color it was.
Red = Green
Green = Blue
Blue = Red

So the colors of the wires correspond to the color of the wires? I feel like rearranging the wires on the plug isn't a good idea. Is this what I should do?

I understand that this would be more of a normal setup:
Red: Blinks while alarm condition
Green + Blue: Off during alarm condition
But I had it like that because I was experimenting with the colors.

You have 6 options:
1. Register a complaint, send the cable back and request a replacement cable.
2. Theat the first LED as a write-off and buy a new one, in awaiting it's a good one this time.
3. A selfmade LED-cable.
4. No LED at all.
5. Live with it as it is now.
6. Or...the easiest and fastest way, rearrange the pins or tongues yourself until it fits with the colors of the LED. The black cable (ground) is in the right spot of the connector, because otherwise the LEDs wouldn't light up. You can orientate yourself on that. You only need to rearrange the red, green and blue cables. You can use a small needle to remove the tongues from the connector.

Thank you, yeah someone switched up the wires. Wanted to make sure I could just switch them around.
