Laing 3.25 + aquaero

Donnerstag, 10. September 2015, 00:16

Hello,
I have a Laing DDC 3.25 pump (3 pin, no PWM) and I would like to control it via my aquaero 5. Unfortunately, while lowering the voltage the "electronics temp." rises quickly and upon reaching 100'C, a voltage goes back to 100% until temperature falls and so on.
Can I do anything about it? Also, is it safe to connect pump directly to motherboard and control it from BIOS?

This is exactly why the poweradjust was created. It is designed pretty much just for this.

An Aquaero 5 just isn't really designed for the level of power a DDC draws. With the water block you might be able to keep temps under control but I would not expect it to be safe and using a poweradjust makes more sense. As the manual says the Aq5 can cope with 1.65A at 12V but that will decrease considerably as voltage lowers.

You def can't connect it to the motherboard. A DDC 3.25 draws about 1.5A and motherboards are limited to 1A at best.

I see, that's what I was looking for, thanks.

One more thing: what about aquaero waterblock? The description says it "significantly increases the maximum power output". Does the "significantly" is enough for 18W pump?

Yes, the water block will provide enough cooling performance to use a pump on the aquaero 5.
