AquaComputer D5 pump - No control

Sonntag, 4. Oktober 2015, 02:23

Hi there!

I have a problem controlling my pump via either the USB interface or the 4-pin aquabus (high header on Aquaero) through my Aquaero 6 PRO)
The problem is simple. The pump runs at full speed no matter what I do (USB slider or Aquabus) in the Aquasuite software (2015-v6).

PIC@CURRENT_SPEED=MAX_PUMP_SPEED

No luck changing the three control options in the above pic...

The first steps for the setup where:

Computer is OFF
1) Connected the pump to the power supply (molex) + USB (pump -> motherboard)
Computer turns ON
2) Pump was running@full speed. Did not care. Just went and changed the priority to aquabus. Saved changes.
3) Turned off pc. Removed power cord.
4) Removed usb cable. Connected 4-pin aquabus to Aquaero. *Now aquaero is connected via USB to the motherboard and the D5 pump is connected via 4-pin aquabus to the aquaero(high).
Computer turns ON
5) Tried to change slider. No change in speed.
6) Recognition of problem

I have been searching for hours for a possible solution. My troubleshooting involved : factory defaults (first just the pump then the aquaero), unistalled the aquasuite - turned of PC (+power cord), performed clean install of aquasuite -> no change (pump always at full speed). Tried to control via USB -> nothing... Changed priorities many times -> no change.

I cannot find a solution.

Here's a pic of my setup.

I anyone could give some advice, that would be great.

Thanks

You have the pump set to "Manual preset", and you have the Manual preset, set to 100%.

You can either adjust the speed with the Preset slider, or if you want to control the pump from the controller tab, you should select the "Set by controller" option, and make a pump controller under the controller tab.

I have a "Preset" Controller for my pumps because I don't vary my pumps due to conditions, but I can control both pumps with one slider.

OK, so it sounds like its maybe not one of the obvious problems like the pump is not being detected via Aquabus.

I would recommend connecting the pump via USB and Aqbus at the same time while you set everything up. Remove all power from the system by removing the power cord from the psu and also any powered USB hubs that may be connected. ( I have had a case where a powered hub was backfeeding power into the motherboard enough to stop proper Aquaero Aquabus detection ). Connect all cables and power the system. Check everything is detected via both USB and Aquabus, then play with the settings and try to get some proper response from the system by switching to Aquabus priority etc.

I have had strange issues like settings not taking hold until other unrelated settings have been changed, or overview pages switched. Check the quality of the Aquabus cables.
Take lots of screen shots and report back.

The pump is unresponsive to any actions up to now.

Thank you nevertheless. Many times I have found myself stuck at obvious settings/problems. Unfortunately that is not the case up until now.

I am going to try Jakusonfire's solution right now.

have you set up the pump via usb and set the priority to aquabus?

Yes.

The steps I followed:

First time I connected the pump to the usb header of the motherboard (and the molex of course) while PC off (pic below : 1usb <- aquaero , 1usb <- D5)

Turned computer ON.
Opened Aquasuite.
Pump listed as MPS.
Changed to priority Aquabus.
Turned PC off.
Removed USB cable from pump. Connected aquabus cable.
Turned PC ON.
Opened Aquasuite.Pump listed as PUMP in aquaero. Could not change the speed. Always at full speed.Played with the settings. Defaults, controller etc.No luck...

I have followed Jakusonfire's suggestion. No change. Now Pump connected at BOTH USB and aquasuite.

Shows in both menus (MPS+PUMP aquaero).Cannot control...

"Check the quality of the Aquabus cables."

I suppose since it shows in the aquasuite cables must be fine.

Current aquasuite pics.

OK, so that can only really be a hardware problem. You will need to send the pump back.

I am unlucky it seems...
Isn't there anything else I can do?
If I have to send it back I should proceed with this?
