Audiable Alarms?

Montag, 11. Januar 2016, 20:31

I've recently overhauled my main desktop computer. My Aquaero 6 says it's been running for 381 days but I've only just started playing with it three days ago, it worked out of the box without any configuration.

I'm aware it has a speaker/buzzer which is concealed under my RTC battery. I hear it clicking when I touch the touchscreen.

I've been trying to make it squeel using Aquasuite but can't. Is there a simple way to test the audiable alarm or have I missed the point?

Thanks.

If you go to the 'Alarm configuration' tab under the aquaero, and set a temperature 'Warming limit' below the current 'Data source' temperature, you should get a single beep.
If you set the 'Alarm limit' below the current 'Data source' temperature, you should get a constant beep.

I couldn't get the Aquasuite software to trigger an alarm like that. It just wouldn't do anything. The model is the XT with remote. Heatsink and RTC clock.
Using the remote control in the alarms section on the Aquaero I managed to perform the same task.

It sounds like a car indicator, tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock. Not that easy to hear on a fairly quiet computer. Is this normal?

The alarm is quite loud and piercing... you would not miss it if working properly.
If you can here a sound, but it is not alarm level, then the "speaker" may have an issue.

Thanks for your help. I've been told that the heatsink can cause certain electromagnetic issues with some buzzers. I can remove and replace the speaker with a soldering iron but I'm not going to do that. Giving me a soldering iron is like giving Oscar Pistorius a shotgun. My Aquaero will have to visit Germany. Thanks again.
