Cuplex XT di and choice of pump

Donnerstag, 15. November 2007, 11:39

Hi, forum ;)

I am looking around for making my first ever watercooling setup. I was impressed by a comparative result I saw of the Cuplex XT di with other waterblocks. It outperformed them by miles. But at the same time I read comments in a forum that this block is so extremely restrictive that for a first-time watercooling builder it would only lead to disaster.

I suppose that for this block it is mainly important to make the right choice of pump (yes?) Could I get advice on that please? The other components in my loop will probably include a reservoir, a Thermochill PA120.3 radiator, 11/8 Tygon tubing and a connection to the Asus Maximus Extreme motherboard's integrated chipset watercooling (Fusion block, 1/4" ID connection). Extra requirements for the pump are that it must be connected to the PSU's 12V line, and that it must very silent.

If you have other remarks about my (preliminary) choice of components, feel free.

The cooler gets better with less flow.
A german test magazin performed the cooler at a 140l/h and at an 80l/h.
The Cuplex Xt Di clearly performend better@ 80l/h.
So normally an Aquastream Xt is enough for this cooler and everything else.

The Aquastream series of pumps don't get any more silent. How are you planning on mounting a reservoir (vertical or horizontal)?
