Better definitions of built in HW monitors in 2017

Tuesday, December 6th 2016, 8:58am

This falls in the bucket of a feature request for what we're paying for now.

One of the features that's been particularly noted is the built in hook to HW temp sensors.

While all well and good, in my case (Asus RVE) I have several that simply show up as "motherboard." Five or six of them.

I'll post a screenshot when I get home tonight.

While I appreciate that there is a lot of HW, leaving these in a generic state doesn't really buy anyone anything. Please don't implement something and leave it in an unfinished state. Without knowing what the sensor is reading, how does that do anyone any good?

This will not happen since we only process the data from the system in a generic way. Being able to name every single piece of information requires to to add specific data for every hardware which is impossible for us. We are not a specialized company like FinalWire (AIDA64) that has the knowledge and resources for stuff like that. Our internal hardware monitor is a basic system and should be also seen as that. It will never be able to compete with well known hardware monitoring tools.
