Help with HWiNFO and Aquasuite

Freitag, 6. Januar 2017, 06:45

Hi to Everyone,

Although HWiNFO its simple monitoring software to use I got stomped with
something I cannot figure out so I'm hoping to get some help if possible. I
have posted this at HWiNFO forum as well, I'm not sure if that has to do solely
with that program or its combination with Aquasuite I truly believe its HWiNFO,
but the reason I'm posting this here, maybe someone had similar issue and can
help.

I do a lot of backups e.g. windows images, my wife's work backups, It can be
as much as 300-500 GB per day I use Paragon HDM 15 Professional for that, Paragon its configured to run silently in the background making full
and incremental backups at specified times , depending on selected HDDs and
partitions.

Aquaero and Aquasute its set to
automatically controls several fans based on my preferable temperature
threshold and some of the fans are set to cool 4 of my new 10TB Helium drives,
this drives do run hot, despite what WD saying, they need active cooling.

Anyhow, my Windows 7 x64 task scheduler is set to sometimes wake my PC in the middle of
the night and to make the backups, than
to put PC back to sleep.

Here is the issue..... In Aquasuite controller
its pointed to HWiNFO's HDD temperature sensor
to enable the fan once any of the drives reach 40C and to keep them at that temperature
and that means by fan going on and off as
needed and it all works great as long as my monitor is on.

If I'm at my desktop and backup
happen to start running, HWiNFO runs smoothly but, If the PC is asleep and
task scheduler happen to wake up the PC, the backup commences as normally with monitor still being asleep than HWiNFO
it's not working, not sending the
info to the controller and if the backup
happen to run for 2 hours, the
temperature of the HDD can get 50C or
higher, yet HWiNFO not kicking in...... and this is the part where I get
stomped........ until I will simply move the mouse to wake up the monitor as
well, then HWiNFO kicks in, works fine

The way around that now is to use Aquaeros data sensor and it works as it
should, the only problem is sometimes Aquasuite points to a different , wrong drives e.g. SSD
and thy never run hot so it's wrong info for the controller and that is a
problem unlike HWiNFO seem to always
point to the right drive.

I hope that I made this clear, if not , please ask away.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, partially solved, not exactly the way I want it but it
works. Originally I used AC hardware monitor to control fans but for some
add reason my drives would change the disk# and that would result in
incorrect reading, so I've try HWiNFO and it worked correctly in that respect,
but then I was faced with different issue.

At the HWiNFO forum Martin the author is puzzled as well. I
have been trying for few days with no luck so that made me want it to go back
to original config using AC Hardware monitor.

I have 8 internal HDD's, some partitioned some full and each have
assigned letter starting with disk 0,1 for main SSD's Originally I want
it to run 2 SSD's in raid 0 but after testing's I know this that I wasn't
gaining much performance so I end up going for single SSD and just hiding and
removing drive letter which was
"D" from the other SSD instead I assign that letter to the next drive.

I Assigned letter "D" to the SSD that I was originally
hiding from the system, than changed
drive letters for the remaining several
drives accordingly, than I again hidden the SSD and now no more drives disk# shifting, so that
allows me to use AC Hardware monitoring.

Maybe the HWiNFO
issue I'm having can get sort it out down
the road, but for now it just gives me headache :)
