kryoM.2 difference between two water blocks

Monday, February 17th 2020, 12:50am

https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3401 <- which plated this one?
https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3408 (nickel plated water block)

I didn't find information about https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_inf…roducts_id=3401 , seems it's copper by images but I wonder why it's cheaper than nickel then? I though copper has better heat sink than nickel or?

I believe both are copper, the nickel version has a nickel plating applied, hence the additional cost.

Isn't it pointless to do then - adding nickel over copper since copper has better heat sink? 8| ?(

Some like silver plated coolers more than a copper surface. ;)
And the plating protects the copper for oxidation.

What eisbehr said... plus, the heat transfer lost across the very thin nickel layer is minimal.
But, for the purist, aquacomputer does provide the naked copper option.
Many people have paint on their radiators, not an optimal solution, but an aesthetic trade-off.
It's all about personal preferences, capitalism at work :)

Nickel plating is required if you want to use Liquid Metal as thermal paste.

As we learn step by step, everything is there for a reason! :D

I don't think what you can apply liquid metal for these M.2 water blocks :D
