MPS flow 400 and Type 1 Lab Water

Samstag, 28. Mai 2022, 01:46

First time poster, and first time building with AquaComputer Eco system,

I'm building a dual loop system with 2x Aquastream Ultimate Pumps with aquainlet Res' I also picketed up an Octo and 2x MPS Flow 400's for both loops.

I plan to forego the Aquaero controller, instead opting for a USB setup while using the Octo and the Pumps as Fan Controllers.

I plan to use Type 1 lab water as my coolant; however, after reading all the instruction material, I noticed that the instructions stated that the MPS flow sensors was calibrate for AquaComputer's coolant specifically and they need to be located within the loop in a relatively straight section of the loop.

I can understand the need to put the MPS in a straight section of the loop; however, am I able to re calibrate the MPS for the different fluid's viscosity/specific weight or is there no way do recalibrate the MPS and I am required to use AquaComputer's Liquid to get correct reading out of this sensor?

Maybe answering besides the point, but you really shouldn't use pure water alone for cooling. it is slightly corrosive and will damage the blocks in short notice. Usually the nickel coating goes away pretty quickly in a matter of weeks, and your ultrapure water doesn't remain so, causing all sorts of mayhem in the loop.
Either use DP ultra, and you'll be all set, or at least add biocide and corrosion inhibiter for custom loop to the water.
