Why does aqua-computer use a Eheim based pumps ?

Out of intrest why do you guys use a Eheim based pump and not the DDC or D5 vario ?

I'm tempted to buy one of your pumps

Apart from them being more reliable are they any louder or quieter than the laing pumps and would i have any problems running the Aquastream on a large 1/2" pipe system ?

Hi,

no problem on big tubing. The XT s are quite powerful and they are really quiet compared to other pumps.

Do the pumps make a whistle or whine noise at all like a hard drive spinning as that would drive me nutz.

Hi Guys

I have an Eheim 1052 Aquarium pump i bought in approximately 1987 possibly 88 and it's still running perfectly on my s a l t water Reef tank. (had to space word :-/)

only replace impeller spindle once in that time
because it broke when i was cleaning it (i dropped it & it's ceramic) there was no visible wear on the spindle at all.

this pump was run continuously apart from about a month when i moved house.
