Aquasuite - Overview improvements

Sonntag, 21. Juli 2024, 13:10

Hello,

I have some suggestions for the overview pages, especially customized ones.
Would it be possible to add component grouping and some basic alignment options? For example, button to center background square with the gauge that is sitting on top of it, and group them so I don't accidentally move one without another? Or other basic things like align selected components to left/right/top/bottom, equally space selected components, etc.? This would make preparing a nice overview pages much easier without having OCD issues that something is not pixel aligned:)

We have some ideas for the overview pages including grouping, grids and more. Also we would like to make them based on physical monitors, making it possible to add dedicated displays for the overview pages.

This is great news! OP makes some good points.

I have 2 dedicated status displays in my rig - one is 1920x480 in portrait orientation and the other one is 1024x600 in landscape orientation. I made several Overview pages that populate both displays. I had to figure out the coordinates for each object to place them where I wanted them on the 2 displays. It worked fine but after I made these Overview pages I decided to move the 2 status displays in the Windows raster. I had to recalculate the new coordinates for every item on both displays. That is why I asked that you consider adding a Global Offset to the right click context menu a few years ago. You could select multiple items (or all items on a page), select Global Offset, and then type in x and y Global Offset coordinates. The command would just add the Global Offset x value to the current x coordinate value of every selected item, then do the same for the Global Offset y value. Seems like it would be easy to do this, and it would make moving an entire Overview page to a different display with pixel accuracy super easy and much better than dragging the items, then scrolling, then dragging some more, and trying to get them to end up in exactly the right place. Please consider adding a Global Offset x, y command, or some other way to do what I have described.
