Leakshield Standalone As Leak Tester

Mittwoch, 14. August 2024, 04:29

I recently purchased a Leakshield for use with my Ultitube 150 and I really have been enjoying it. It was extremely useful as a leak tester while I was building my PC and my new MORA.

I am now in the process of transplanting my build into a different case and re-working the loop. Typically when I perform the build, as I add segments to the loop, I will cap off new additions when I finish work for that day and let the system be pressurized with air from a similar device to the Dr. Drop overnight to monitor if anything hasn't been seated properly and then continue building.
This got me wondering if I could purchase a second, standalone variant of the Leakshield to simply be my new automatic leak tester while I build my systems? I know the Leakshield requires a certain air volume in normal operation but if I were to simple hook it up as I would the leak tester and have it pull a negative pressure to monitor the system pressure overnight, would this work in the way I am thinking it would? Plan would be to use it with a 5-pin to standard USB dongle to a laptop for the monitoring process. Is there any issue with this or would it not work?
