Farbwerk 360 Problem w/Lian Li Uni Fan SL120

The Farbwerk 360 stops working and status light starts flashing the moment I chain two or more fans rgb together.. It seems to work fine if I have a single fan plugged in.. With three fans it turns off the psu..

I was under the impression, being that the Farbwerk 360 is molex powered, it could handle multiple rgb devices.. Could I have a faulty unit?

Take photos and describe in detail how and where something is connected.
Every detail is important, even the other hardware and cabling that is supposedly not part of it.
You can't say in general terms why something works or doesn't work.

Currently I'm testing the 360 on the test bench.. It's connected to the psu (molex), and I have three lian li uni fan sl120 linked together with a single cable (w/jst to argb connector) going to the 360, plugged into Rgbpx #1 (standard argb connection)..

Don't the Lion Li SL120 fans have 32 LEDs each? If yes, 3 of them would be 96 LEDs. An RGBpx port can drive 90 LEDs max. I don't know if this is what is causing your problems, but goin over 90 is a no-no. If plugging 2 fans in (64 LEDs) is causing the status light to blink, something else is going on.

I did try with two fans. Status light still flashes.

Today I got a short circuit alarm from the app.. Everything cable wise checks out.. I removed the printed cover and I was surprised to find that the cover is made of metal, looks like aluminum. There is nothing in between the circuit board and the cover. Could the cover cause a short? I tested without the cover and I get the same status light flashing.. I'm at a loss atm.

Describe the complete cabling, ALL cables are important. Without a COMPLETE description/pictures, no one can really help you.

PSU molex to farbwerk 360 (power)

Two Lian Li sl120 linked together with a single pwm going to fan controller, and a single 5v 3-pin argb (jst sm connector type) to a jst sm to argb adapter cable. The argb adapter is connect to the Farbwerk 360 #1 port..

I have not connected the USB cable to the motherboard yet. I wanted to see if the Farbwerk 360 would power 3x sl120 fans, but that didn't work.

The Farbwerk 360 only works with a single fan connected.
