Air problem

Samstag, 13. September 2008, 12:11

Ello all,

Nearly every time I switch my PC on I have to deaerate my system. I can leave it on all without a problem but if I switch it off and back on, I get the air rattle. Even if I have just dearated it and then switch it off and back on I get the rattle. I don't get the rattle if I do a simple reboot though, only on a full shutdown.
Any ideas?

Hi,
what kind of pump du you use? do you have a Reservoir (like the Aquatube)? what does your waterloop look like?
anything special about how the pump is mounted (e.g. upside-down)?

Sounds like the flowrate through your reservoir is too high, so air is getting sucked in to the loop.
When you then stop the system, the the air settles in the heat exchangers and pump i.e. and thus you get the rattle noise again.

Try adding 1-2 drops of dish washing soap to your water. That makes the water less able to contain the air, and thus the problem should be minimized or totally disappear.

Is the pump the lowest point in your water loop?
