Tubemeter issues and mods

Freitag, 25. November 2005, 10:15

Greetings most exalted ones...

Need some information in regards to my Tubemeter. I have been looking at the Tubemeter manual and I am wondering if NC = No Connection on Pin 1 below:

If this is correct then I assume I can use a 4 conductor cable to do some custom wiring solutions?

The pins coming off the bottom of the Tubemeter are problematic for me because they take up too much space when the connector is on it. So I have already started to mod my Tubemeter as seen below by removing the pins.

I think that's correct, as it's a usb connection. :D

Hope this helps

Will a Tubemeter work in the non-conductive liquids becoming more popular here in the USA?

not sure how it actually works (the tubemeter) but i'm assuming it works by connecting pairs of contacts through the conductivity of the water. so i would say no, or very intermittently.

hope this helps

Yeah that is the issue and how much conductivity do you need to get it to work properly. Some people in the USA are asking about this due to use of non-conductive coolants. Anyone using any of these solutions with a Tubemeter?

What coolants are you talking about (KM :-/)?

Back in her watercooling days, my old gran used to say:

"if conductivity is a problem, just use mercury"
