LED voltage

Hi everyone,

When I wanted to install the LED I ran into a little problem. What volatge does the LED need? I ordered the LED here to install into the Aquatube.

no i was gunna say 12 volts but i think im wrong? :o ???

google's the key :o , as no 1 else has helped on the subject :'(

this forum is slow ::) so be patient or google the q. 8)

but i wud say pm or wait for TopNurse as the answer probly or most likely can be given by the cable guru. ;D

Which LED and do you plan on powering it off the Aquaero or the PSU line?

Hahaha... LOL!! Thanks for the help guys (Ehh... sorry Top_Nurse ;) ).
I didn't realise there were two types of LED's. I think I've stumbled across the answer myself. Because the LED is attached to a 12V connector, I guess it really eats 12V. Well, it has some help from the resistor in front of it. But it seems such a waste to me I wanted to know for sure.

P.S. If you people couldn't guess from this post, the LED I mean is the top picture Top_Nurse posted.

Careful!! the molex connector provides 12V AND 5V!!!!

Red wire=5V

Yellow wire=12V

Also i believe that this light:



has a resistor in the circuit too!
