relais plug connector

Donnerstag, 28. September 2006, 20:18

Hi guys,
good forum this one: i was searching how to plug the relais system whit the case's power switch, and i found a good post, whit diagrams too, in the second page!
However that post don't explain the correct wiring of the power switch....i suppose a power switch have a GND wire, and another one. What is the correct pole orientation in the relais plug?

if this is the connector on the back of aquaero:

============Top of aquaero===============

relais plug
+++++++
+ 1 2 +
+ + +
+++++++
===========Botttom of aquaero===============

the Ground wire go on pin 1 or 2? or no matter the orientation?
Thanks everybody!

Welcome to the forum :)

It doesn't matter which way you connect it.
The wire has no polarity.

edit: its like a switch -> on or off.

Thanks a lot!! ;D

Another question, if you will be so kind to answer also this one: i want to convert a 4pin molex into a 2 pin plug for the stand-by connection of the aquaero...it is possible? i hope one of the wire is +5v....

Cheers

Doesn't make any sense to me because that would be no real stand-by power. If the PSU is off, the power of the normal molex connectors is cut.

You have to use the purple wire of you PSU for real stand-by.

Ahahah! you're right! I've asked a stupid question... ::)

In fact I've tested to plug the relais (in-line whit the MB power button) on my aquaero, but it don't work, 'cause after the "loading OS" the aquaero seem to turn off the pc immediately!
Maybe it is absolutely necessary to use the stand-by function?
I've also tried to lit the aquaero whiteout the relais plug, and set the relais parameter (relais on, power button break-line), but when i restart whit the relais-plugged in, the aquaero keep to turn off the pc immediately...
I'm also curious to know how the aquaero save the settings, cause I'm thinking: what happen if (even whit the stand-by power from ATX) i detach the PSU cable for transport my pc to a lan-party? ???

There is an easy solution for this problem :)

Open the aquasuite and go to the alarm & relay menu. Set the relay usage to power switch. Save the data to eeprom and now the small trick: flash the firmware again.

In the menu bar of the aquasuite click on Sprache and select english if not already done. Click on aquaero and select flash firmware. Choose the file 'aquaero firmware 410a.afd4'. You will see a info-box, just click OK. I'm not sure if you have to click something again, just read and do what it says. On the aquaero you have to press and hold the set button for 2-3 seconds and the update will start.

When the update is finished the aquaero display says you have to restart. Shutdown your PC, wait a short moment and fire it up again. Now it should operate in a normal way.

The aquaero stores all data in his eeprom memory (if you save it!). You won't lose any data when you disconnect the PC from the power.
