AquaStream questions & XT

Donnerstag, 25. Dezember 2008, 01:02

I bought an AquaStream 3-4 years ago, and it's been running fine since.

18 months ago I bought a new controller for it, and that too is running fine. Although the shop assured me they would send me a 3.5 bracket for it they didn't :/

However I've always considered increasing the power of the pump in my system to increase the cooling performance. I've always run the pump at stock settings. I've also considered switching to a DDC Ultra,

However I now see you've redesigned the AquaStream, so I have a few questions.

First of all I see the upgrade kit is nearly the price of the pump - for a 3/4 year old pump I'd probably be best just getting the XT Ultra.

How reliable are the pumps when run at maximum? Is it something I would have to monitor? Is it likely to reduce the lifespan of the pump?

Is the AquaStream XT the same pump, however with an integrated controller, and a temperature sensor, and a USB interface?

Would this mean I could change the pump frequency by software, and monitor the temperature by software, similar to what the AquaAero system does?

You change the frequency of the pump through Aquasuite. I have been using the Aquastream in one of my loops for three years and it has been OC'ed from day one. I have been considering the new pump myself but I dread the thought of pulling out my Aquabay and Aquaero.
