Aquaero : this peripheral can't start. (Code 10)

Montag, 29. November 2010, 21:55

Hi,

Sorry for the repost but it seems I cannot access the original post when logged in.
So yes, I definitely am part of the big family with Aquaero and USB problems (MB is ASUS RE3)

I tried every solutions proposed here and nothing worked.
The only thing that did work (but you have to do it every time the device fails (1/2 the boot) is going to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943104/ and following the IFixIt tools recommendation. (I have win7 and I don't know if this tool is available on other platforms)

Guess what the solution is ? Yes Driver re-install.
Did it worked ? Yes
Do I still think that AquaComputer has nothing to do with this bug ? Unfortunately no.

Regards,
Maximillien, a proud customer of AquaComputer that feels the money he spent on this hardware should at least reflect in the translation of the AquaSuite program.

hear hear!!

I love my AC gear, the quality and features are amazing.

but if it wasn't for Shoggy and this forum it would be USELESS!!!

Please translate your manuals properly,
and invest some of the ridiculous amounts of money we pay (AUD$300 for a fan controller!!) for Aquaero back into aquasuite development....
PLEASE!!!

I have Win7(64bit) and it worked great until I connect an Aquastream on USB too. So I'm not sure it's win7 related. 8|

Connecting them directly on the Motherboard shows magic and they work to the perfection (at least for me).
Connecting them to an internal USB Hub (to free some internal USB) and it goes BOOM BOOM BOOM...

PS: Nice build and nice paint job on the Aquaero plate :-)

We do not provide any kind of driver nor have we programmed something like that. We just use the general HI-Device driver provided from the operating system. This thing is clearly based on given USB specifications where we can prove that the aquaero is 100% compatible to them. We also invested A LOT of time into these problems with some Asus mainboards. Long story short: this problem will never be solved. We are not willing to spend any more time on this since we already did that more than enough. Making 9995 users happy in 5 minutes and than 500 minutes more for the remaining 5? - That does not work and I'm sure you would do the same if you have to run a company.

The aquaero menus in the aquasuite are translated to English. You only have to switch the language in the menu.

The manuals are translated into English. If your device did not come with one you can download it in our support area or request it by e-mail. I would also say we did a lot of in the past for the software. Do you know how everything started?

That was the first program for the aquaero:

A single window with some basic settings... Now compare that with the latest aquasuite. I would say we have done a good job here in that past without charging anything for it. And that is only the software for the PC. Also the firmware and internal operating system has faced a lot of massive changes/updates in the past. As said we also spend much time into these Asus related USB problems.

The aquasuite is fully compatible to all Windows 7 versions.

I have a EVGA board BUT!!! I am planning on a NXT USB board mounted in drive cage to handle my aquaero and 3 power Adjusts along with my LCD screen. So I hope I'm OK

Chill out, it's not a trial and even if it was, really I don't stand a chance as a judge. :-)

I did not say you were responsible for the "bug" with ASUS, I said I think you have something to do with it.
And I did not say you did nothing to correct it.

All I said "against" you is the poor translation made in the AquaSuite and it was not made to be a harsh comment.
I am really gratefull for the translation job you did, and I would only request more if you used it as a selling point what you don't :-)

Now what would makes me really happy would just be a "Known Issues" as a sticky note in the forum. :-)
