Aquastream XT ultra speed issues

Sonntag, 10. April 2011, 21:25

Hi all,
I've got an Aquastream XT USB hooked up via aquabus (only) to an Aquaero. The Aquaero is in turn hooked up by USB to the computer so it can all be controlled through Aquasuite.
The Aquaero is on FW 422 and OS 203, Aquasuite is 4.69 and according to the "aquastream" page in aquasuite the pump is running FW 2.03. I have tried updating the pump through aquasuite using the FW supplied with 4.69, but it fails on block 1.
This setup has been running fine for quite a long time now.... probably over 2 years... and it has never quite worked properly.
Sometimes, the pump decides to renegotiate its speed again. Some days the machine is started, and the pump can be heard and seen in aquasuite gradually speed up from a very low speed (40hz ish) all the way up to 78hz. It then immediately goes back to 40hz and does it again. This doesn't happen 3 times in a row, it continually does it and won't stop doing it until the pump or machine is restarted.
Also, I can't seem to tell it what speed to run at... or in fact tell it to do anything. The "set default frequency" button does absolutely nothing.
Anyone got any ideas? Half the trouble is it's pretty hard to work out how the thing is actually supposed to function unless you speak excellent German!
Thanks.

that sounds like it is stuck in "de-aeration mode"

english manual is easy to understand :)

What you describe there is the automatic frequency detection. Maybe you want to use the manual mode and set a frequency a bit lower than the maximum frequency so try 76 Hz for example.

English manual is indeed good, unfortunately not too helpful if you have issues - I was referring to the forum being German :)
The de-aeration button is grey, changing it doesn't seem to do anything. As I type it appears to have negogiated 78hz and sat there ever since. I'm unsure how to set the frequency manually? All I have is a "set default frequency" which doesn't seem to respond in any way I'd expect. I set the "frequency" to 55 just now, pressed the button and after a few seconds it shot down to 45hz and gradually made its way back up to 78.
Here's an SS of my panel attached.

I am not a specialist, but what about connecting the pump to the USB in addition to the aquabus. To my understanding you will then have a better control over your pump via the software.

Kind regards

Correct, you should connect it via USB because with the aquabus you only have a VERY limited amount of possibilities.

Thanks for the info! I shall try that and report back.
