Check your MS .net 4 framework is fully up to date.
If you dont have it installed get it here> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263

Windows 7 32-bit SP1. Disabled antivirus, started as administrator, repaird and even uninstalled and reinstalled .NET 4 and still no luck. Same as with beta 1. It starts, appears on the process list, uses CPU for a second or two and does nothing else. Tried killing the process and starting it again and again and again, and actually for about 200 restarts I was able to run it correctly two times. Once I used it to update firmware, and the second time I was able to synchronize the time and date. Now that's something. Didn't even try to play with anything else since even starting this thing takes a lot of luck.

I belive that the faulty part is actually using the .NET environment. We have been trying to port one of our software to it once, but with so many versions, configurations, security updates changing behaviour we gave up and back to native MFC application. Same as with installation file. We used one based on the Windows Installer, but after many complains and problems of unknown source we've switched to native Windows application (Inno Setup) and since then there was no even one problem reported with the installer. Of course at this point there's no way you would stop using .NET framework, but at least add some serious logging and client side debugging procedures (Eureka Log could be a nice part of it), otherwise you'll never start working on the real features and will end up with half of users not even able to run it for unknown reason.

Another possible fix for you guys. I just plugged my iphone in this afternoon and Aquasuite crashed straight away and then 2 consecutive times it crashed trying to restart, only the 3rd time was it successful in restarting.
Try removing all un-necessary USB devices, I have seen USB issues like this between devices before so worth a shot.

Also try moving the A5 to a different USB port and doing a device reset on it.

Looks like a config file issue. Maybe uninstall both versions of it and manually delete any files left in the installation directory. Then reinstall beta 2.
I noticed there were 2 versions of aquasuite 2012 in my control panel "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" where you uninstall programs from. Didnt seem to effect my system though for some reason.

Didn't work...

I was able to get Beta 1 working again after manually deleting the Aquacomputer Folders in Program Files

Found this in the German forum maybe help someone here.

The following steps were performed:
1. Uninstallation. NET 4 Extended
2. Uninstallation. NET 4 Client
3. Registry cleaner running (in my case tuneup 1 click maintenance)
4. Computer restarts
5. posted the link to Sebastian. NET 4 charged
6. . NET 4 installed -> this alone has not helped Aqua Suite up and running
7. loaded via Windows Update two security updates for. NET 4 (one for client and one for the extended version KB2416472/KB244670 , Right after successful installation of these updates I could run the Aqua Suite 2012

Sebastian wrote on the German board that everything needed to run on the clean Windows 7 machine is the installation of the .NET Framework 4. But I tested this, and this doesn't seems to be the case. I have a Windows 7 (and actually every other Windows version out there) clean installation under VMware for my software developing tests: not even a single default option changed, installed SP1, added .NET 4, installed beta 2 of Aquasuite and it does the same thing as on my real machine: it starts but it doesn't appears nor does anything else.

As I am eager to get this working I also tried Phatboy69's method under virtual machine, since I don't have the acces to the Internet under it, I've downloaded and installed manually KB2416472. The other one can't be installed since it's for .NET 3. Also tried this on my real machine, and Windows Update didn't find any updates for .NET 4 to be installed...

Just wait for the next Beta Version (10 - 14 days). I have the same problem on my private system so at least we have a PC to analyze these problems in detail.

Samstag, 28. Mai 2011, 22:50

Phatboy's solution worked for me!!!
