Aquasuite 2012 support for Samurize

Mittwoch, 25. Mai 2011, 18:29

In the news on the main page and in the German board I read that Aquasuite chart creating capabilities are enough to replace Samurize, and thus there will be no support for it. If for some reason you don't want to provide a plugin for Samurize that will get the values from Aquasuite, then you should at least provide easy automatic export capabilities. Eg. refreshing every 1 second of file in INI/CSV/XML/whatever format containing all the temperatures, fan speeds etc. that will be able to be read using Samurize. The fact that Samurize development seems to be dead is no excuse. Samurize is more than displaying charts and numbers. It has wide array of visualization and scripting embeded. I don't want to have nice charts provided by Aquasuite (when it will be finally working correctly), I want to have nice charts consistent with the else of pixel-perfect Samurize HUD created by me. If I spent cash to make a monster hardware controlled using advanced equipement I don't want to use any poor substitutes when it goes to software. This makes me think of a way that Microsoft thinks: we don't like menus anymore, you have to live with ribbons, don't like it ? - we don't care we do like them.

Otherwise I would need to use Aquaero with one set of sensors (temperature, flow) for controlling my cooling setup and something else (nCubed maybe ?) with another set of sensors to read them via software. That would be sick if you want to call your product the most comprehensive controlling and monitoring solution.

Of course this a future thing to consider. Now the priority is to work with the users (crash logs, mini dumps, whatever) and get everyone to at least start Aquasuite. No point in adding features while it's still not even running for most.

In later versions of the aquasuite you will be able to use the contents of the overview pages directly on your desktop so it acts exactly like Samurize. We will also offer some controls so for example you can click on a graphic on your desktop to switch profiles.

The desktop option is already working but is deactivated since it will require some additional testing and optimization.

As I said earlier I don't belive Aquasuite buil-in visualisation will be able to satisfy my needs. I have a Samurize made HUD and it contains charts with custom background, gradients, text with shadows etc. There's no way the Aquasuite charts will fit there. Also I was going to include such data as water coolant flow and calculate power dispatched via the radiator based on the temperature differences on the in and out of it. It's easy to be done via Samurize math support. So I am asking again - is there any support planned for easy constant export of data from Aquasuite for use in Samurize and other similiar software, or should I be using other hardware + software solution along with Aquaero as described in my last post ? Plus don't count Samurize as dead yet, it is de facto standard for desktop modding and the author didn't discontinued it yet. He has simply changed his main development tool and Samurize is being still ported to it - I myself has already added support for Unicode strings for it and the ability to work with Flip 3D and Aero Peek in Vista/7 although it's all still waiting to be merged with his sources.

Of course you will have an export function like in the old aquasuite but like everything else: it takes time ;)

When will this feature be avilable to us end users?

Thanks,

We are focusing on several other things at the moment so I can not tell you a date. Very likely that it will take a few months.
