Hey, guys, do you know if there's any way to use G 1/4 fittings with my old Cuplex NB and GPU blocks?

the NB and GPU coolers come in G1/8 only.

but G1/8 specifies the thread only and not the size of the tubing

is there some kind of adapter that can convert the G1/8 to G1/4? Or maybe the holes are too close?

The only way this is going to get to a G 1/4 is by making your own top. Also you will need to chuck up the G 1/4 fittings in a lathe and knock off some of the hex. However, what is the point? The constricting issue is the block itself. If you were to use adapters it would be really unsightly and quite big!

Oh, snap, long time no see, Janice. How are things?

Thanks for the advice. I'm still holding on to the belief that a narrow fitting with a wide loop is better than a narrow fitting and narrow loop.

I have been dusting off the Feeding Frenzy chassis (that never got done) and getting ready for a major rebuild. Same basic design of three loops, but with later model hardware. Got a whole closet of AC gear just raring to come out and play. :P

On a second thought you could get a reducing coupling (see page 167 of McMaster-Carr catalog) to go from one tube size to another. This way it would be less intrusive from a physical size point of view.

Sweet, I know a lot of people were disappointed that the Queen of AC never finished the Frenzy. Will you resurrect the ole' thread at bit tech?

Thanks for your help with the part. McMaster has everything, it's just a matter of finding it.

Incidentally, the "Old Cuplex NB & GPU blocks" in question are the ones I bought from you!

You might want to consider calling M-C as there order desk peeps are quite good at digging up what you might need.

Thanks for jogging my memory about bit-tech! I just resurrected that thread a few minutes ago.
