Problem with the new D5 Pump with USB interface

Hi all,
I just installed a new D5 pump, connected one end of the supplied USB cable to the pump and the other end to the USB header on the motherboard, gigabyte X79 UD5,
not the power supply cable, just the USB. When i push the power button the pumps does not work and when i run AquaSuite 2012 Beta 16, Win7 X64, there is no new devices to add,
I am sure i am doing somethings wrong but i can't find much more in the documentation. Can anyone give me a hand with this please?

plug the power in!
the usb is just for interfacing with the OS for control
