ok,will try. what another solution are there.i would like to no them all..lol thanksYou could try to connect the RPM signal from the aquastream to one of the fan terminals on your motherboard...and if the bios of your motherboard can recognise the loss of the RPM signal and also can be set to automatically shut down the computer, then this is one solutioon.

can u explain that a little better please how do i do this.how would u hook it up?You could also emulate the power switch of your computer with the build in relay of the Aquaero. You only need to connect the relay parallel to the power switch with the power switch terminal of the mainboard.

The method Pilo posted earlier is correct. That is how I have my system wired.Humm, maybe I'm a little tired, but I'm not shure that the connections on the image provided by Pillo are correct. The way I see it, the relay should have only the power wire connnnected to, from the motherboard to the pin 1 of the relay and from the pin 3 to the power switch, with the ground wire going directly from the motherbard to the power switch.
Also, another option to shut off the computer is availlable, in the alarm actions you also have the option "Keyboard: Power key", I tested it once, it did shut my computer down, and I do not even have a "power key" on my keyboard.
Good luck!

I'm no electrical guru, but wiring the relay across the switch and then activating it is the same as holding the power switch in. What happens when you do that? The computer shuts down, right?I will have to do some testing I guess, because I just cant understand how the relay could be working on the first image, what I mean is that if the relay is really in parallel, how can he shut down the computer by cutting the power off? Even if the relay is off, the power will still be going around the path because both wires are connected together via the relay.
On the second picture of Pilo, if you set your Aquaero to put the relay on "On" by default and set the alarm to put it off, the relay will close the power from going around the path and the computer should shut down. Once this is done the Aquaero should put back the relay on "On" and you should be able to start the computer again by the power switch. No?
But anyway, as I said I will have to test, and if you say that it works, its the only thing that really matters here.![]()
