Connecting a GPU waterblock to the backplate

Thursday, June 2nd 2022, 2:04pm

Hey

I'm looking to buy an 6800XT reference card and then water cool it with:

Backplate für kryographics NEXT RX 6800 / RX 6900, aktiv XCS (aquacomputer.de)

and

kryographics NEXT RX 6800 / RX 6900 vernickelte Ausführung (aquacomputer.de)

I'm unclear however about the way that the block and backplate would connect to each other. The connection to the tubing of each of the 2 seems to interfere/conflict with the connections of the other one. I looked at the manuals for both, and there seems to be no mention of this topic.

Therefore my question is:
- how would I connect the tubing from the backplate to the waterblock? is there an additional piece of gear I need to order? could you point me to which one (maybe some special fitting?, or just regular fittings?)?

Many thanks,
Andrei

the backplate shop page says :
The back plate comes with a connection terminal that replaces the terminal originally installed to the kryographics water block

So i assume you'd have to remove the manifold from the waterblock and use the one that comes with the backplate.

The active backplate comes with a new terminal. You remove the one that the block comes with (three screws) and replace it with the one that the backplate comes with,
