Severe virus threat false positive

Donnerstag, 4. September 2025, 14:31

Aquasuite X.83 triggered a false positive severe virus threat five times on my PC this morning. Whatever it is, I have quarantined it anyway. I do not remember what the name of it is. Part of it was Vigor.... But, anyway I know it must be a false positive.

Aquasuite X no longer working for me after update today. no devices connected to enable activation. It then shows my octo as activated under devices but I cannot access it as it's locked on the left hand side panel

Same here. It was classified as a "Trojan" threat and the file was called "Win32/Vigorf.A".

Same for me here. MS-Defender states: Trojan:Win32/Vigorf.A found in file: C:\Program Files\aquasuite\AquaComputerService.sys

There are several options:
* Define an exception in the scanner
* Disable hardware monitoring
* Use Hwinfo or Aida64 and disable the internal aquasuite hardware monitoring

This new update broke Aquasuite for me as well.

Even AFTER adding the entire folder + exe + the AquaComputer sys files as exclusions, it continues to ask me to activate my devices and doesn't detect them. I can see that it's working because before clicking the activation notification I can see behind the transparent overlay on my device page all of the widgets updating.

It also is listed as a trojan that I've had to restore multiple times.

This update broke the program. First time in years for me, probably ever for most. Please fix it. We are intelligent enough to put together a full water cooling system, you can be sure we tried everything possible before coming on here to reply and tell everyone about it.

I have been using AIDA64 for years and it is still enabled. Doesn't make a difference. Also have HWinfo, doesn't make a difference. I want the aquasuite program to work.

Respectfully,
Jmac

In the meantime, how can I install the version prior to the update? Is there a way to download previous versions?

Thanks

you have to disable the hardware monitoring (aquasuite > service)

1. download the setup an install the aquasuite:
https://aquacomputer.de/software.html

2. buy 1 year update service to have acces to this version:
https://licensing.aquacomputer.de/shop/aquasuite

currently you have no access to the latest aquasuite version.

Hi,
I've added the exclusion and still don't see any hardware monitor readings for CPU or GPU temp. The hardware monitor readings don't show when trying to set a data source either. I've tried an reinstall and no different. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Thanks for ignoring my previous message.

Is there any plans to release a non-vulnerable version of Aquasuite? I'd like to use the full functionality of the software I paid for without having to bypass Windows Defender...

Bug report following update on 2025/09/02:

-Profile setting for Farbwerk 360 is not saved on system cold boot, reverts to Profile 1
-Right click menu for RGBpx controllers is in German when software is set to English

When you disable Aquasuite's hardware monitoring, winring0 is not loaded at all and it doesn't trigger Windows Defender. That's why the current workaround is to use Aida or HWinfo for hardware monitoring. Aquasuite can access those.

Hardware data unavailable after latest windows update

Dienstag, 9. September 2025, 20:03

After installing the latest windows and .NET update, AS no longer sees any CPU/GPU hardware sensor data. This causes AS to default to the "no sensor" settings - i.e. pump, fans, leakshield, etc are all running at 100%. I have removed and reinstalled AS with same result. Installed HWInfo and turned off AS hardware monitoring, restarted service and still doesn't see any hardware data. Any suggestions on what to try next will be appreciated. Have thought about uninstalling latest windows updates, but will do that as a last resort.
On a second note, how does one get back created virtual sensors after a reinstall? I lost all my virtual sensors and would like to get them back as they are rather complex.
Thanks in advance.
Windows 11 Pro
Version: 24H2
OS Build: 26100.5074

Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.25100.234.0
UPDATE: The hardware sensor data reappeared. Now all I need to do is get my virtual sensors back.

you have to restart your computer, sometimes twice.
When the service is not running, restart the service.

Restarted 3 - 4 times. For whatever reason, the hardware values are now showing up (they were not there after the last reboot). Now all I need to do is get the virtual sensors back. I've tried replacing the XML file with a backup copy but that didn't work. Any suggestions, short of recreating them?
UPDATE: Read the saved XML, created the objects, mapped and connected the object links. So, I'm whole again. Not sure why the hardware sensor info disappeared, then mysteriously reappeared.

The latest update is flakey with respect to the ability to read hardware information. Multiple reboots and/or restarts of the AS service do not resolve this. Occasionally, the values just appear, but for the most part they are not available to use. As D5 Next, High Flow Next, and Leakshield all need the hardware values to determine pump and fan speed they run at 100% or full negative pressure all the time. This seemed to happen after the latest windows update was applied.
I would like to install the prior version of AS to see if AS stability returns. Basically, is it AS or the latest windows update that seems to cause the issue. Running the setup from my initial install back in January goes to the AS website to get the software and doesn't use any local copy of the software.
I have fully disabled my anti-virus software (Norton) and did the reboots/restarts and still no good. I delayed the AS service start at boot and no luck either.
I installed HWInfo and AS sees that data - had to uninstall HWInfo as it caused system instability (blue screen) with my backup software. HWInfo also doesn't have SSD temperature info, which I use to control fan speed.

What kind of diagnostic work can I do or check to find the cause so it can be fixed, either by me or AC?
MORE INFO: It seems that the AS service picks up the hardware values about an hour after the system starts. Until then, the values are the fallback values I defined.

What SSDs do you have that HWINFO is not reporting drive temps for? I have a variety of drives, including Samsung NVME, Intel SSD, a Western Digital Black platter drive, and a Samsung NVME drive in a USB3.0 external carrier. HWINFO reports between 1 and 3 temps for all of them. Also, what backup software are you using that HWINFO is conflicting with?

I use HWINFO exclusively for monitoring system sensor and import the data I want into Aqausuite via the HWINFO Shared Memory feature. I have all Aquasuite Hardware Monitoring disabled, so I don’t need to worry about the unsigned Winring-0 driver it is still using. HWINFO reports far more data than Aquasuite, it uses a WHQL-signed kernel-mode driver, and it is updated far more often than Aquasuite – 31 times so far in 2025 versus 2 times for Aquasuite. HWINFO’s primary purpose is to monitor system sensors, and it does this very well. The author of HWINFO provides support on their forum. If HWINFO is somehow causing a BSOD on your system, if you post the details on their forum I suspect it will be fixed quickly (if the problem is HWINFO).

I installed Aquasuite in its 09/02/2025 version and it was causing stuttering in the system, a one-second freeze that happened randomly. I’m sure Aquasuite was causing this because after uninstalling it, it hasn’t happened again. It also coincided with a new .NET update on Windows 11, so I don’t know if it caused some kind of issue with the new libraries.
