Hello all, i just bought an Aquaero VFD , and is flashed with 4.10a firmware.
Im having some troubles with it.
I think aquacomputer should be more specific and provide an updated english manual, and one how to to JALcd, because aquaero is a expensive "toy" and it live up to the right standarts of aquacomputer.
I went to Jalcd forums and i couldnt retrieve information that could help me find the way to solve this.
So ask your help to help me put this to work.

Hello Shoggy, thx for u so fast reply.
I'm trying to use JALcd software with the Aquaero VFD.

I need the detailed information on how to put Jalcd working with my new toy.
I went to Jalcd forums and i couldnt retrieve any valuable information that could put this running.

Then still is the question "what problem?"

- Do you have connection problems?
- Do you have problems with configuring the Aquaero?
- Is the display not working?

Be more specific please, so shoggy can reply with the proper answer

On the jaLCDs forum you won't find any useful information because AC is using a special edition of jaLCDs.

You can download the latest version here.

After installation you should check if your windows/system32 folder conatins the file aquaerolcd.dll.

Always start jaLCDs with the shortcut from you start menu or create your own which has to end with the paramter output=aquaeroLCD.jaLCD

Without this parameter jaLCDs will only give you a few error boxes.

Start jaLCDs and on the right side you will see two new icon in your taskbar. One of them is the AC logo and if you place your cursor over it you yould see the message 'jaLCDs aquaero interface ok'. Do a right mousecick on it and select 'Force aquaero LCD-Mode'.

Do a right mouseclick on the other logo (that green bar) and choose configs -> example.cfg
Now the display of your aquaero should show a few informations about CPU, RAM etc.

Do create your own config start the jaLCDs configuration. I highly recommend to open the example.cfg and save it under a new name. Creating a whole new config seems to be a bit buggy.

It works,

Now the only problem i got is that the aquaero doesnt find the aquastream.
I have the aquaero>aquastream cable, but maybe it is from my aquastream controller, it could be a little old, it's a 3.01 i think.

Which controller do you have?

Aquastream v.3.5

I think my aquastream version is 1.5, or it is 2.0.
I must have a ancient revision of the pump

My aquaero is functioning allright but sometimes it freaks:s
The characthers start just sliding from right to left and they keep going until i reboot the pc.
Could u please say what is going on?

Ao k parece é bug de software, se mexo nos butoes do aquaero com o jalcd a bombar ele xtrilha e nao deixa me usar os menus do aquaero mesmo:s

Have you tried a different config in jaLCDs, when the problem occurs? Does this only happen in USB LCD mode?

I'm pretty sure the refresh rate value is set too fast. The VFD doesn't like quick display changes.
