Hi there, is there any info on fitting the 8800GTX blocks. Really could do with a step by step guide if possible.

Well, the block has arrived. Other than what (I think?) are thermal pads, there are no fittings.

Am I supposed to use the fittings that are currently holding the stock cooler on?

Where do the pads go, and where do I put thermal compound?

The pads should be used for the voltage regulators. Use thermal paste at all other parts.

Thanks.

But just to be clear, there should not be any fittings with it, I am to use the fittings that I'll get from removing the stock air cooler?

I've done the best I can to translate the instructions. I used Babelfish initially. Then corrected any spelling errors and changed it from badly translated English to something that makes sense. It still needs more work, so could someone try and polish it off for me? There's several sentences and phrases that don't seem to come out right, and also several words that didn't translate.

Step 1: Remove original cooler from the PCB. "Ever after design of the diagram map the Vortgang differs geringfugig."[Even though each card is made to nVidia reference design, there may be some variance between manufacturers?]. Go very carefully with the PCB and their "tools forwards"[?], over the sensitive components and conductive strips not to "beschadigen" [?]

Step 2: Remove they samtliche[?]. Warmeleitpads[Heatpads?] of the components of the PCB. Remains of thermal pastes and thermal pads can be usually removed with cleaning solution.

Step 3: Lay a thin layer on thermal paste (not supplied) on the GPU, the HDCP/Video chip and the RAM components of the PCB. "The used conductive paste may not be leading elektrish!" [Do not use conductive paste?] "Platzieren"[?] it aquagraFX fur the FX8800 enclosed thermal pad on the "Spannungreglem" [?] of the graphics card. The thermal pad is "electrically not leading" [not electrically conductive?] and may "berúhren" [?]other parts of the PCB.

Step 4: Fasten the Kulher by screwing the original screws of the original cooler in dismantled in step 1. The screws around the GPU should be tightened first, then screw "within the range de RAM-Bausteine" [around the RAM chips?". Last tighten the screws around the voltage regulators.

Step 5: The cooler is now installed mantierrt [fully?] on the PCB. Guarantee, class the Kuhler on all to kuhlenden construction units flat aufiegt.[Make sure it makes good contact with all components?] "Do not take the diagram map in enterprise,"[?] if but the cooler does not rest properly, repeat the assembly.

Step 6: Integrate the cooler after assembly of the PCB in your PC into the water cooling system. Pay attention to it, "no parallel attitude of cow-learn to make"[? Maybe don't connect it in parallel, has to be in serial?], a detailed guidance for the setting up of a watercooling systems as well as to plug&cool-Anschlussen [?] find on our Website www.aqua copmputer.de in the support/download section.

Step 7: If you take the waterblock in enterprise[?[, do not yet power up the PC! Prufen it the Wasserkuhler as well as connection on mogliche leakages [Ensure the water cooling system is working properly, and there are no leaks?]. Take the PC only in enterprise[?], if you exclude leakages reliably konnen[?]! Should water "out GET pensions its"[?], "dúrfen you the PC not in enterprise take"[?], before the leakage was eliminated and all components vollstándig[?] dried are! To operates the graphics card must the correctly installed cooler in watercooling system with sufficient flow and sufficient cow achievement to be integrated!

NOTE! Neglect of this assembly instruction does not know the May & Willie GbR to heavy damage drove. ubernimmt Gweahrleistung and a warranty when incorrect assembling.[Failure to follow these instructions correctly will invalidate any warranty?]

Fitting it wasn't too bad. The important things that English speakers need to know....

1 - There are no fittings supplied. Use the spring fitted screws that are already fitted to your cooler.

2 - It may be difficult to remove the stock cooler. Once you have removed all the spring screws (it is not necessary to remove the smaller ones), "shoogle" (gently twist from side to side) the cooler until it comes free. It may take a while.

3 - Use thermal compound such as AC5 on the GPU and the other small chip. Use non-conductive comound such as AC Ceramique on the RAM chips. Use the supplied heat pad on the voltage regulator. I just laid the pad in one single strip, and cut the excess off. Seems to work fine.

4 - Do not overtighten the spring screws when putting them back on. I already knew to do this. When putting them back on it's easier to fit the graphics card to the cooler, rather than the cooler to the graphics card. Tighten the GPU screws first, but not completely. Work between them tightening them as you go so you allow a bit of movement. Next repeat with the RAM screws, and finally the voltage regulator screws. Finally tighten all the screws - but not too much.

5 - The cooler is a snug fit, if yours isn't, something is wrong.

I hope that helps any English speakers who are considering fitting one. As for the difficulty of it? Pretty easy. I spent way more time fitting the SLI chipset block today.
